What should I know before Signing In?

Do I need to register an account with Tools for Strava?
Not exactly. Our gremlins use Strava to authenticate and log you into our website. There is no need to register with us. You only need to have an account with Strava and grant our gremlins permissions to use your data.
What happens when I click the Grant Access button?
You will be redirected to Strava where you will be asked to allow us to access your account, along with a short list of required permissions (see below).
What data do you save?
We save a bare minimum of data such as your Strava user profile information. We also save your activity information which allows us to provide the bulk editor functionality. You may deactivate our tools at anytime which will purge all our data about you as well as revoke access to your data from our tools.
What happens if I don't approve all the Permissions?
If you do not approve all the permissions, you will not be allowed to access our tools.

What permissions will I be asked for and why?

View your complete Strava profile

We need to read your Strava Profile to access your gear, i.e., your bikes. We use this data when you use the Bulk Edit tools. Without this permission, you will not be able to use the Bulk Editor.

View data about your private activities

We need to read your private activities to present all your activities in the Bulk Editor. Otherwise, our gremlins would only be able to present your public activities.

We also use your private activities with the Activity Rules where you can define rules to automatically update an activity, i.e., assign a specific bike (gear) when the activity is uploaded by virtual training applications such as Rouvy and Zwift.

We need the ability to update your activities when using the Bulk Editor or modifying an activity based on your Activity Rules.
